Fuel Your Body

Do you find yourself to be frequently tired, slow or just not feeling your best?

Yet, you’re eating “enough” calories…so, what could the issue be?

Feeding vs. Fueling

Our body needs certain nutrients to function to the best of its ability. When we eat, our body works hard to extract the nutrients it needs to perform certain tasks and support our internal organs and systems.

When we eat “junk” food, our body still attempts to extract nutrients—but it has to work even harder to flush the toxins out.

Choosing to fuel your body instead of simply feed it means making healthier choices like adding more greens and veggies, opting for leaner proteins, choosing “whole” foods and drinking more water.

Starting Small

You don’t have to make this health jump overnight! Instead, take a look at what you’re eating and whether or not those habits are healthy. If you find yourself reaching for a soda a few times each day, try to slowly replace them with flavored water.

Next, take a look at what you’re eating for dinner. Do you see any foods that are highly processed sitting on your plate? If so, make a conscious effort to replace them with something whole—for example, sub out the macaroni and cheese for mashed cauliflower.

Lastly, when you’re at the grocery store, make a greater effort to “shop the perimeter”—this is because most healthy produce and proteins are located on the perimeter of the store.

Wondering what else you can do to fuel your body? Chiropractic care! In fact, properly fueling your body helps chiropractic work even better, as your body will be properly supported to maintain adjustments longer.
